Dubai eGovernment is one of the strategic partners of the summit, which attracted over 50 CEOs, CIOs and senior IT executives from the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
Fadi Hindi, Acting IT Manager,
Dubai eGovernment said “MECIO 2005 is a premier event targeted at Chief Intelligence Officers and IT managers from leading corporates in the region, who provide insights and share best practices on wide ranging information technology related issues. This is an ideal platform for Dubai eGovernment to emphasize its array of eServices and tools that have gone a long way in enhancing the efficiency of various government departments, and in turn benefited the growing business sector in the region.”
Presenting Dubai eGovernment’s 2005 strategy, Hindi said, “Our strategy for this year broadly focuses on four perspectives – Financial, Customer, Internal Process and Competency. We aim to achieve financial savings via synergistic services and we will sustain the reduced IT costs. The customer service perspective relies on providing high quality eServices, while the internal process perspective focuses on implementing new eServices and quality management. The competency perspective centers around human, information and organisational capital and includes elements like instilling project management, acquiring new core and support systems and establishing culture, alignment, teamwork and leadership.”
An important highlight of the fourth edition of the summit is the IDC MECIO 2005 Primary Research Findings Executive Briefing, where a panel of leading international and regional experts presented and debated the findings of the original research into the latest trends and key issues facing CIOs globally and in the Middle East.
