Dubai eGovernment to host 28 government entities under its umbrella for GITEX 2009

Dubai eGovernment has revealed that it has significantly expanded its exhibition space, and has for the first time divided its stand into four main sectors – infrastructure, justice and security, economic development, and social development - to showcase the services offered by each participating government entity. The Dubai eGovernment stand will feature a network of workstations, providing visitors with virtual models of all electronic services provided by government departments and entities. The public can access these services through Dubai eGovernment’s portal at In addition, Dubai eGovernment has launched a special website – - to provide information about the range of services offered by each of the government entities participating in GITEX 2009.


Ahmed Mohammed Bin Humaidan, Director General, Dubai eGovernment, said: “This year’s edition of GITEX will serve as a perfect platform for several of Dubai’s government departments and authorities to showcase their eService offerings under the Dubai eGovernment umbrella. We look forward to working closely with other government entities in Dubai to take the emirate’s eServices framework to a higher level of efficiency and excellence, with the overriding goal of increasing awareness about eServices.”

The re-launch of the ‘Best Online Customer’ promotion by Dubai eGovernment follows the major success of the campaign last year. This year, five additional government entities are taking part in the ‘Best Online Customer’ promotion, taking the total to nine this year from 4 last year. The government entities that are participating in the “Best Online Customer 2009” promotion are Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Department of Economic Development, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Roads & Transport Authority, Dubai Courts, Dubai Customs and Dubai Health Authority.


The raffle draws on a set of online payment services to be determined by each department and gives a chance to clients to win a range of valuable daily prizes, including cash prizes worth AED 2,500, tours within Dubai, safari tours, three-day stay at five-star hotels in Dubai, electronic appliances and entertainment gadgets, among others. The names of customers using the Dubai eGovernment portal from October 19 to 22, 2009 will automatically be entered into the draw, while the winners will be chosen randomly, with their names being displayed on an electronic screen at the stand during Gitex.


As part of its participation in GITEX Technology Week 2009, Dubai eGovernment will cover all the events, press conferences and agreements reached during the exhibition  and will issue a special edition of its "e4all" magazine. 


Dubai eGovernment has recently held a meeting with all the government and semi-government departments participating in GITEX Technology Week 2009 under the Dubai eGovernment umbrella, to brief them on its preparations ahead of the event which will be held from October 18 to 22 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.    


The government entities that will join Dubai eGovernment at GITEX 2009 are Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Land Department, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Department of Economic Development, Roads & Transport Authority, Dubai Public Prosecution, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Police, Dubai Courts, Dubai Customs, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority, Protocol and Guest House Department, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Dubai Statistics Center, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Government Workshop, Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Est., Zakat Fund, Naturalization and Residency Department; Dubai Chamber, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Media Incorporated, Center of Ambulance Services in Dubai and Dubai Airport.
