Dubai eGovernment secures ISO 9001:2000 certification for the second year in a row

International certification awarded to Dubai eGovernment for advocating quality and excellence in its management systems

Dubai eGovernment has recently announced that it has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for the second consecutive year, highlighting its consistency in promoting quality and high standards across all levels of its operations. The certification reflects Dubai eGovernment's successful strategy in improving the delivery of services to the public through its wide range of electronic platforms and solutions.

Securing the ISO certification likewise validates Dubai eGovernment's system of quality management in all areas of the organisation. The award considers a highly effective set of policies, processes, procedures and aspects of management and operations that directly affect the quality of Dubai eGovernment's products and services and subsequently result in improved business performance.

"For the second straight year, Dubai eGovernment has been awarded the coveted ISO certification. This has been our objective from the start: to showcase a high level of consistency in our management practices and subsequently in the delivery of services to the public. This certification validates our efforts which are ultimately for the greater good of all citizens and residents of Dubai and the UAE," said Salem Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment.

The ISO 9001:2000 certification identifies eight principles considered essential in ensuring quality management. The eight quality management principles are customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

"This is a very important milestone for Dubai eGovernment, which reflects our commitment to abide by international quality and excellence standards. This award will further inspire us to take extra efforts to ensure that we are able to maintain year-on-year Dubai eGovernment's reputation as a leader in organisational quality and excellence," added Al Shair.

Dubai eGovernment provides a comprehensive range of electronic services that enable citizens, residents, visitors and business enterprises to expedite transactions with various governmental departments. Over 2,000 electronic services are being offered through the Dubai eGovernment portal (www.dubai.ae), including electronic payments, health card renewal and company registration, among others.
