Dubai Export Development Corporation teams up with the Dubai Statistics Center

Dubai Export Development Corporation (EDC), the Dubai government body responsible for promoting exports in the Emirate has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Statistics Center, the official source responsible for providing statistical data in the Emirate of Dubai. This agreement (MoU) seeks to identify the broad areas of cooperation between the parties to facilitate symbiotic functioning towards Dubai's economic development.
 

Given the rapid pace of development in Dubai, and the need to effectively contribute to the growth of Dubai, it has become imperative for Government Authorities such as DSC & EDC of Dubai to work together to ensure that the developments within the Emirates are carried out smoothly, efficiently, and rapidly and in line with the vision of its Rulers.

"Building strategic partnerships with distinguished government organisations and private sectors are considered as one of the main objectives of The Dubai Statistics Center,” said Arif Obaid Al Muhairi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Statistics Centre.

We will work closely with Dubai Export Development Corporation to effectively breed and corroborate essential data from various sectors, in order to positively contribute to Dubai's expanding exports.”

Under this convention, Dubai Statistics Center will provide Dubai Export Development Corporation with statistical information of economic and social data about Dubai as well as conducting surveys and preparing specialized studies and reports required by the institution.
The Centre will also provide consultancy in respect of any statistical study on the core competence of EDC and any statistical or publication issued by the institution.

"Dubai Statistics Center is the official source responsible for providing statistical data in the emirate of Dubai. This partnership would provide us with accurate information with in-depth analysis, specialized studies and reports as a useful resource for future planning and understanding current industry trends," said Eng. Saed Al Awadi, CEO, Dubai Export Development Cooperation.

"This agreement represents an important step in support of local exporters; it gives them the opportunity to expand their decisions based on accurate studies, which reduces the risk margin to the minimum," he added.

The Dubai Statistics Center objectives are to meet the needs of different actors by statistical data reliable in the design and development plans, according to their strategy of establishing a comprehensive statistical data that is updated periodically in the fields of the economic, social, demographic, housing facts and figures in Dubai.

Dubai Export Development Corporation (EDC) is responsible for developing the local industry and expand new markets for exporters. It also encourages local businessmen to invest in this sector and export to world markets. Until today, the Foundation held a number of partnerships with Nour Islamic Bank, Dubai technical complex technical and Dubai consulting company, to provide solutions to all the obstacles that might hinder the export sector development.
