Dubai-UAE: 3 October, 2010 - Dubai Internet City today announced it is the official ICT partner and a sponsor of Telecoms World Middle East 2010, the largest conference and exhibition for telecom operators in the region.
Organised by Terrapin Middle East, the sixth edition of Telecoms World Middle East will be held from 4-7 October at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The conference is dedicated to addressing topics such as revenue opportunities for telecom operators, value-added services market, deregulation, as well as investments in telecom infrastructure, cloud-ready networks and the emergence of Web 2.0 content.
Speakers at the event will include top level executives from the telecom industry as well as the government sector representing etisalat (UAE), Qatar Telecom, Ministry of Communications (Iraq), VIVA STC Bahrain, Oman Telecom, Mobily (Saudi Arabia), Bharti Airtel (India), Turk Telecom, TRA Lebanon, Zain Jordan, Saudi Telecom and TRA Bahrain.
At a gala dinner on 5 October, key industry leaders will be honoured for their outstanding contribution to the industry during the year.

The UAE has one of the most developed telecom markets with a technologically advanced infrastructure in the GCC region, according to the Global Information Technology Report produced by the World Economic Forum. Mobile penetration in the UAE reached 211 per cent 2009, one of the highest in the world, the report added.
At Dubai Internet City, telecom is the fastest growing sector with the presence of market leaders such as Singtel, AT&T, Verizon and British Telecom.
