Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI), a leading center of law studies and judicial training in Dubai, recently hosted the 3rd coordination meeting for legal affairs and training managers from various government departments as part of its move to identify client training requirements and develop the institute's training program plan for 2011. During the meeting, participants and officials of the DJI reviewed and analyzed the institute's 2010 training plan and laid the groundwork for the coming year's training program that aims to cover all the training needs and requirements of DJI clients and complement the institute's efforts to promote the country's best legal practices and help improve the efficiency of UAE's judicial and public prosecution system.

The DJI also called on the participants to continue to support and promote training programs that aim to strengthen government human resources. According to the institute, the move to create stronger ties with various government departments and agencies falls in line with the DJI's three-fold strategy; reinforce local, regional and international partnerships; promote the adoption of best legal and judicial practices and strengthen the institute's position as a regional center for legal and justice excellence.

Dr. Jamal Hussein Al-Sumaiti, Director General, DJI, said, "The recent coordination meeting we hosted falls in line with the institute's series of strategic initiatives that aim to identify and meet our clients' training requirements and needs and to further promote a legal culture in today's society. The DJI has been steadfast in its commitment to provide its clients with quality training programs; organizing meetings and seminars with various government agencies and fostering stronger ties between the community and the judicial and legal sector. This meeting also serves as a platform that allows participants to discuss key concerns and issues that include the growing judicial needs of the local society; the need to strengthen government human resources by implementing more training and qualifying programs and the move to promote Dubai as a centre for legal and judicial excellence. Moreover, the DJI will continue to host and organize meetings and events that aim to support the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 and help achieve its goals of security, safety and justice."

The DJI Director General also reported that the series of training programs implemented by the institute this year have received positive feedback from clients, "Our training programs have earned positive reviews from our clients and have contributed largely to the efforts to strengthen human resources in various government offices in the emirate. This has inspired us to create a more strategic training program for the coming year, which will integrate essential factors like a stronger network of contacts from both the local and international judicial sector; preparation of a series of research, studies and legislative proposals that support employees working in the legal and judicial sector; raise the level of awareness for legal and judicial issues and promote a culture of legal excellence and innovation in the Middle East region," he added.

The Dubai Judicial Institute was established in 1996 to help educate and train aspiring judges, prosecutors and their assistants, legal experts and lawyers. DJI also offers habilitation programs for public prosecutors to enhance their efficiency. The Institute provides training and consultancy services to various public and private sector agencies and institutions and conducts local, regional and global research and studies on all areas of law and jurisdiction.
