Dubai's first official property website, ikaar.com, was launched Sunday, with a capital of $1 million, the Gulf News reported Monday.
The site caters to a peripheral market of real estate service providers, building communities with companies offering furniture and decor, maintenance, cleaning, security and legal and financial services was unveiled by the Dubai Internet City-based technology incubator Interactive Ventures and is supported by the Dubai Development Board, the paper said.
Ahmed Al Matroushi, Dubai Development Board managing director was quoted by the daily as saying "the site offers customers convenience and a vast selection of properties that can only be accessed by web searchers. As a government body, we want to lead by example and be early adopters of this new technology." -- Albawaba.com
