Dubai Trade, the innovative online platform of Dubai World, announced Dubai Trade E-Service Excellence Award (ESEA) 2009 (http://www.esea.ae) as part of its commitment to encourage adoption of electronic services and its usage. The annual award, which will be given to best performers in e-service adoption, is themed this year on E-Payment ROSOOM.
The unique annual initiative, first of its kind in the region which the business facilitator launched in 2008, features a new theme every year targeting a specific area of electronic service. The aim is to encourage more companies adopt online transaction options in order to minimise documentation processes and enhance trade flow.
This year the award winner will be the best performer in the area of electronic payment using Dubai Trade’s highly popular and efficient ROSOOM services. In addition, four leading performers will be presented with Certificates of Appreciation.
The selection will be based on criteria that reflect the rate of conversion of services to electronic platform, the volume of business generated the number of transactions made online and the value of payment made through Dubai Trade’s integrated ROSOOM platform.
The award ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 12, at Raffles Hotel, Dubai. A line up of high profile leaders from Dubai’s business community will attend the presentation, including Dubai Trade customers, partners and bankers in addition to Dubai World Director Board Members and senior management from the group’s business units.
Mahmood Al Bastaki, Director of Dubai Trade, said: “ESEA 2009 follows the huge success we achieved last year in motivating companies to convert more services onto electronic platform. We introduced this unique initiative after seeing the positive impact Dubai Trade’s online services made on supply chain efficiency and overall trade flow. Our aim is to translate this success on a wider plane and maximise this result.”
ROSOOM, the centralised e payment gateway on www.dubaitrade.ae offers a wide range of electronic payment services for customers to make online transactions with leading commercial establishments such as DP World, Economic Zones World and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre.
It is currently one of the most effective and popular online payment systems accessed by Dubai’s trading community. This multiple transaction platform enables real-time transfer of funds from the customers’ bank account to the entity’s account for settling bills. This secure single-window electronic facility has been hailed by the business sector as an excellent cost-cum-time saver.
Dubai Trade’s integrated electronic payment solutions cover the entire supply chain and bring together into a single community all the companies that interact with Dubai’s ports, customs and the free zone for the purpose of trade.
The portal’s online services played an important role in helping the UAE move up to be among the top five economies in the world in the “Trading Across Borders” topic of the World Bank’s “Doing Business” report for 2010.
