Under the initiative, a fine of AED 2,000 will be levied every quarter on employees who fail to comply with the health guidelines.
Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid Ali, Director, Group Internal Audit and Business Excellence said: “The significance of this campaign for us stems from the fact that the well being of our employees and their fitness are among our prime considerations. In line with this policy, this campaign aims at educating our colleagues about the numerous programs, events and strategies available to them to help improve their overall health.”
“I strongly believe that employees and the organization can benefit greatly from this campaign, because the wellbeing of the staff would reflect positively on their performance and productivity,” added Mr. Ali.
He said that the attendance of Dr. Mariam Matar as a guest of honor at the staff luncheon was inspirational. “Dr. Matar shared with us information on the challenges of the chronic diseases in the UAE and provided advice to us on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prevent chronic diseases.”
The monthly luncheon had also witnessed the launch of the Joggers Team in line with the employee health campaign; the objective of this initiative is to encourage members to run in groups every week at a park or a jogging track with the intensity and distance increasing every week, in addition to running by themselves at least trice a week. This exercise will prepare the members to participate in Dubai Marathon and Dubai Terry Fox Run.
