Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech), the major life sciences hub in the Middle East and a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it will sponsor the 15th edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT).

A premier pharmaceutical and technology event in the Middle East, DUPHAT was launched in 1995 by INDEX Holding, a business partner of DuBiotech.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister for Finance, and President of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the event that runs from 15 to 17 March at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre is expected to bring together leading companies from diverse segments of the pharmaceuticals industry.

Dr. Marco Baccanti, Executive Director, DuBiotech: “DUPHAT has played a central role over the years in promoting the growth of the pharmaceuticals sector in the region, and serves as a powerful networking platform for companies. DuBiotech is the major hub for life sciences companies, so it is a natural partner of DUPHAT and Index Holding.  With our sponsorship to this event we want to offer to worldwide pharma companies an opportunity to take advantage of the benefits offered them by our dedicated free zone.”

Anas Almadani, Vice-President, INDEX Holding, said: “Over the years, DUPHAT conference and exhibition was able to obtain a distinctive place in the world of pharmaceuticals, making it the most prominent event in the region. Pharmacists and pharmaceutical manufacturers from the GCC region and the Middle East look forward to the event every year as it creates an arena for mutual interaction between professionals, students and academics of pharmaceutical science. Moreover, DUPHAT helps pharmacists improve their performance through a scientific programme that features pharmacy workshops, presentations by outstanding speakers, and other activities during the conference and exhibition.

“We welcome the Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park as one of our sponsors for this scientific event. We believe the collaboration will significantly contribute to the success of the event. More importantly, it will act as the major B2B and B2C platform in the pharmaceuticals field.”

Launched in 2005, the Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park, has the mission to create the biggest life sciences cluster in the Middle East, adopting a sustainable strategy. Its business model is based on providing the best environment for major players in the life sciences industry and research through leveraging the benefits of its location in Dubai, offering free zone benefits and creating world class infrastructure.
