Dulsco Abu Dhabi, the local arm of Dulsco, an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001: 2004 certified manpower and waste management services provider in the UAE, has announced that its Waste Management Division has completed the installation of static compactors with bin lifters at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC). The units include an automatic alert function that informs the Dulsco Traffic Control Room whenever a unit is full and needs to be replaced. They are also equipped with advanced safety features.
Dulsco Abu Dhabi has also installed recycling bins made from recycled materials at various points around ADNEC. Recycling stations have also been placed throughout the venue as well as at the ADNEC Marina located opposite the grandstand.
Dulsco Abu Dhabi works very closely with the ADNEC Operations Team to ensure that recycling initiatives are always kept at the forefront.
“ADNEC launched its environmental strategy “Re-use, Reduce, Recycle” two years ago and since then we have continued to undertake a number of initiatives to reduce our impact on the environment. The ongoing investments we are making in this area showcase our commitment to supporting the sustainability agenda of the Abu Dhabi
Government,” said Humaid Al Dhaheri, Finance & HR Director, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company.
“We fully support ADNEC’s passionate pursuit of higher environmental standards. Managing waste the right way preserves the environment for future generations. ADNEC is helping Abu Dhabi establish itself as a top global events destination with a strong focus on growing sustainably. Our aim is to support them by sharing the expertise we have obtained over the years, in the environmental domain,” said Renjit G Abraham, General Manager, Dulsco Abu Dhabi.
In addition to the ISO 9001 and 14001 certification, Dulsco Abu Dhabi is in the process of being certified to OHSAS 18001, thus having all the major standards covered under an Integrated Management System.
