The first ever Middle East Quality Association (MEQA) Annual Congress will take place in Dubai from the 25th – 27th March 2007 at the Park Hyatt in Dubai. This year’s central theme is Global Strategies for Organizational Excellence, which integrates 12 tracks through 10 plenary sessions by eminent international keynote speakers as well as many concurrent sessions held by academics from all around the world.

“We are enormously proud that the MEQA Congress is taking place in Dubai!” exclaimed Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Vice President of e-TQM College and Chairman of MEQA. “This historical congress aims to spread knowledge and up to date quality concepts into this important region – with the themes being meticulously crafted so there is relevancy to the Middle East.”.

With the support of the International Academy for Quality, the European Center for TQM, the APQO and the ANQ, this historical meeting will empower and disseminate the Quality Concept throughout the Middle East. The MEQA Congress will demonstrate how value-focused organizations have responded to the unprecedented uncertainties of the new global economy and its shifting paradigms by taking systemic and integrated business management approaches structured upon Quality-based models.

Several notable speakers at this year’s Congress include Dr. Armand Val Feigenbaum, the originator of the concept of Total Quality Control, Dr. Joe De Foe, President and Executive Coach at Juran Institute, Inc. and an expert in coaching executives on the key factors in driving enterprise-wide change programs, and Prof. James Harrington, the Chief Executive Officer for the Harrington Institute and the U.S. Chairman on Technologies for Project Management, University of Quebec.

The Middle East Quality Association (MEQA) was formed in 2006 and operates as a non-profit organization, with its main purpose being the creation of economic growth and development in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and facilitating the free flow of information and the exchange of best practices in the field of quality. The founders of MEQA come from quality institutes around the Middle East including the Dubai Quality Group, Saudi Arabia Quality Council, Bahrain Quality Society, and the Iranian Society of Quality Managers to name a few.

“Quality is vital to Middle East organisations and individuals if they are to succeed in the increasingly competitive marketplace and MEQA’s activities are devoted entirely to the promotion and dissemination of philosophy, theory, and practice in the field of quality” added Prof. Mohammed Zairi, MEQA President.

The MEQA congresses registration fees are USD $ 500 per individual for the full three days of the event. Corporate rates are also available for groups. For further information on e-TQM College and the MEQA Congress, please visit www.etqm.ae
