Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort Hosts Basketball and Volleyball Tournaments on Hotel Premises
The 1st East Coast Inter Hotel Basketball Challenge, scheduled on 2nd July, and the 1st East Coast Inter Hotel Volleyball Challenge, scheduled on 9th July, will be held at Le Meridien Al Aqah beach resort’s state-of-the-art courts, hotel officials announced this past weekend.
Designed to promote co-operation and build strong team spirit, the one-day tournaments will see teams from hotels across the East Coast compete for top honors and highly-coveted trophies.
“Riding high on the success of the 2nd National Lifeguard tournament has prompted Le Meridien Al Aqah to keep the spirit of competition alive on the East Coast with the launch of these tournaments that highlight the camaraderie between hospitality staff on the East Coast and also foster the exchange of new ideas,” said Patrick Antaki, general manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah.
More than 200 spectators, including hotel staff, their families and friends, and government officials are expected to attend the tournaments, which are also open to the public.
For both tournaments, the draw will be held the same evening and matches will be held from 5pm – 11 pm, followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
