Shamsa Al Bloushi, CEO, The Edge, says: “We are committed to offering exceptional dining experiences characterised by high quality and outstanding service. The Edge is the only restaurant in Dubai that operates a 'no menu' policy. Every day, our Executive Chef Juraj Kalna creates a special menu for each guest.”
Backed by an 18-strong culinary team, Executive Chef Kalna is committed to the highest standards. A distinctive feature of The Edge’s offerings is the impeccable service, which has been described as 'being accustomed to royalty.' The restaurant’s classy décor, soft brown furnishing, and elegant tables embellished with red roses, create a beautiful ambience for enjoying Kalna’s innovative gourmet creations.
The international profile of The Edge, as well as the UAE’s culinary scene, rose recently when chef Kalna became the official representative for Africa and the Middle East at the Continental Semi-Finals of the World Association of Chefs Society (WACS) Global Chefs Challenge in Johannesburg.
Kalna will join six other international chefs competing in the Global Chef Challenge final to create a four course meal, to serve 12 people, with ingredients that will be decided slightly ahead of time. Chefs must meet the ingredient guidelines exactly and will be under strict time constraints for the completion of each course. The people at The Edge share my enthusiasm for providing the most exceptional cuisine supplemented by the most exceptional service and the most exceptional ambience. Competing on behalf of the Africa and Middle East at the Global Chef Challenge final is an honour. I have already begun preparations to ensure that I bring home the title of World's Best Chef.”
