Edutech, a leading provider of educational solutions and services, announced that it has completed the implementation of an integrated eLearning solution for King Khalid University (KKU) in Saudi Arabia. The deployment of the full suite of eLearning system is aimed at providing 21st century learning to over 70,000 students by helping them align, collaborate, engage and innovate through various eLearning initiatives. The solutions provided include a comprehensive learning management system, virtual classrooms, collaboration tools, content authoring and capturing tools, and digital repository systems.
With primary aims to bring in world-class systems and learning methodologies to their campuses, KKU has identified the potential of partnering with Edutech for this multi-phased project implementation, which has brought a wide array of benefits for both teachers and students. Primarily, the implementation has provided a platform for strategic growth and innovation, improved efficiency and coordination, ‘anytime, anywhere’ access to coursework, in addition to a unified view of student, faculty, and course and enrolment data. Furthermore, the centralised learning environment has also ensured consistency in teaching standards, as well accurate tracking and reporting for enhanced performance.
“Our history as an institution formed through the merger of two universities and numerous community colleges with multiple campuses has made standardising learning methodologies and processes a true challenge,” said Dr. Abdullah Alwalidi, Director of e-learning Center, King Khalid University. “As one of the biggest centres of learning in the Kingdom, we have made a decision to adopt eLearning as a tool to offer quality education, better student and faculty experience, and streamlined teaching and learning processes. This prompted us to partner with Edutech, who have risen up to the challenge by implementing a whole gamut of eLearning solutions, which are now a part of the total learning experience at the university.”
In addition to promoting standardised learning, the implementation has also paved the way for KKU to embrace the concept of distance learning through virtual classrooms. By capturing and broadcasting classroom sessions to students across all their campuses, the university has increased its effectiveness in imparting teaching to a geographically dispersed student base. Furthermore, Edutech also conducted training for over 200 staff and faculty at KKU to facilitate seamless hand-over of systems and processes.
“We are very proud of this implementation that we have rolled out for King Khalid University, as it successfully addressed the University’s needs and has placed them in a position where they can effectively create and sustain an eLearning culture within their entire academic community,” concluded ASF Karim, CEO, Edutech. “We have undertaken this multi-phased initiative based on our ‘Certified Rapid Implementation and Support Program’ methodology to ensure fast implementation and quicker user adoption at a lower cost, which has been very much appreciated by our client. This extensive project has been another accomplishment in our growing portfolio of successful eLearning implementations within the region’s top educational institutions.”
Edutech has the domain, technology and execution experience to address educational institutions’ present requirements while leaving them the option to scale up for the future. As a global provider of learning solutions that facilitates skills enhancement and knowledge enrichment, the company is focused on its portfolio of 21st century solutions, as evident in its recent participation at the ‘International Conference on eLearning and Distance Learning’ in Riyadh. In addition to the KKU project, Edutech has completed implementations within other prestigious institutions in the Kingdom, including Effat College (Jeddah), KFUPM Schools (Al Khobar), Al Andulas Schools (Jeddah) and Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University.
