A right-wing Israeli minister's recent proposal for a Palestinian state in Egypt's Sinai desert is "ridiculous," Egypt’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher said Tuesday.
"These are ridiculous remarks and it's in this minister's interest to refrain from such statements which do not interest Egypt," Maher said, quoted by Al-Akhbar daily.
Israeli infrastructure minister, Efi Eitam, leader of the National Religious Party, had proposed creating a Palestinian state in the desert and mountainous Sinai peninsula. (Albawaba.com)
