NCR Corporation and Noor Advanced Technologies, the leading internet and web-based technologies in Egypt have entered into a long-term strategic alliance that will allow Noor to provide sophisticated e-business infrastructure solutions to the Egyptian and regional markets, reported the Middle East Times.

The weekly cited an agreement signed by the two firms on February 13 under which NCR will provide Noor with technical expertise, support and engineering resources to allow the rapid deployment of turnkey solutions.

Noor is an Internet solutions and infrastructure provider based in Cairo and Washington DC. It offers a full range of services including networking and hosting, as well as Internet service provision and web-based services.

NCR will also become Noor's provider for ATMs, web kiosks, and data warehousing, said the weekly.

NCR is a $6.9 billion company that employs 31,900 people in 130 countries, and is a component stock of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index.

Noor signed last month a $100 million deal with Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, and NCR Corporation. The combination of ultra-sophisticated networking technology from Cisco, together with the data-center and telecommunications integration by NCR will give Egypt's business and residential community a terrific alternative for high-speed Internet access, content hosting and portal services, said reports.

The massive project, the first phases of which will be rolled out by the end of the year, makes Noor one of the region's biggest Internet and Communications Service Providers – Albawaba.com
