Egypt and Greece are planning extensive talks on eradicating terrorism for the end of November, according to the Cairo-based daily Al Ahram.
The paper said that Ambassador Mohammad Shaaban, deputy foreign minister, would meet top Greek officials in Athens to discuss ways of contributing to the US-led international coalition against terror.
Greek will play its part as a member of the EU, said the report, adding that Egypt would promote a longstanding proposal by President Hosni Mubarak to hold an international conference on the issue.
Arab states, led by Egypt, are keen on such an event so that countries worldwide come up with a uniform definition of terrorism, which they hope will differentiate between national resistance and terrorist acts.
Mubarak, whose country has been fighting fundamentalists since 1992, suggested the conference idea as early as 1986 - Albawaba.com
