An apartment building collapsed in Alexandria on Egypt's northern coast on Wednesday, and rescue workers have pulled seven bodies from the rubble, including a mother found clutching her baby, state media reported.
At least 10 others were hurt, and rescue workers were combing the ruins of the four-storey building for more victims, state news agency MENA said. It described the building as old. Building collapses are common in Egypt because of low level building standards and poor maintenance.
