Two Egyptians were found dead in Eastern Libya and dozens of others have been reported missing, according to AFP sources.
The Egyptian foreign ministry said that the Egyptians were reported missing shortly after they "illegally" crossed into the neighboring country.
Smugglers had assisted the group to enter Libya secretly, but reportedly abandoned the Egyptians on the desert road between Tobruk and Ajdabiya.
One of the smuggled Egyptians managed to reach a nearby town to alert Libyan authorities to search for the other missing Egyptians, according to the article.
Badr Abdelaty, the Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman said that the two dead Egyptians were yet to be identified.
