Egypt and Libya have improved security cooperation, said a report by Middle East Newslink (MENL).
Officials were quoted as saying that Libyan leader Muammar Khadhafi has responded to Egypt's longtime request for such cooperation in the battle against terrorism and organized crime.
They told the news service that the cooperation was launched soon after the United Nations -- prompted by heavy Egyptian lobbying -- lifted sanctions from Tripoli nearly two years ago.
Last year, Libya was reported to have extradited Islamic fugitives sought by Egypt.
On Tuesday, Egyptian Interior Minister Habib Adli held talks with his Libyan counterpart, Abdul Rahman Mussa. The two men met on the sidelines of the Arab League justice ministers conference.
