An Islamic leader has been freed from an Egyptian prison where he spent 22 years for the assassination of president Anwar Sadaat, according to MENA.
Karam Zohdi, aged 51, a leader of the Jamaa Islamiya group, was "freed for humanitarian reasons" because of poor health and because he had "served out his sentence," the agency reported on Sunday.
Zohdi was sentenced in 1981 to 25 years behind bars for approving Sadaat's assassination in 1981. (Albawaba.com)
