Egypt Showing Musical Films in Carthage Theater Festival

Egyptian cinema is participating in the next round of the Carthage Theater Festival in Tunisia for a program on musical films. 

According to the Egyptian Satellite television, Egypt will participate in a series of films including Ghazl El Banat (Cotton Candy), starring the legendary Laila Murad and directed by Anwar Wajdi, Gharam Wantiqam (Passion and Revenge), starring Asmahan and directed by Youssef Wihbe as well as Intisar Al Shabab (Youth’s Victory), starring Farid El Atrash and Asmahan and directed by Ahmad Badrakhan. 

The legendary Um Kulthum will be represented with two productions directed by Ahmad Badrakhan; Nasheed El Amal (The Anthem of Hope) and Dananeer (Dinars). 

The higher committee for Festivals at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture has also nominated the movies Al Abwab Al Mughlaqa (The Closed Doors), starring Sawsan Badr and directed by Atef Hatatah and Hassan Wa Aziza (Hassan and Aziza) and Amn Dawla (National Security), both directed by Karim Jamal Eddine.
