At least one soldier died from an explosion in Egypt's Sinai Wednesday, according to Reuters.

Security sources reported that an explosion in the town of Rafah left at least one soldier dead and four others wounded Wednesday.

The explosion allegedly occurred after an armored tank drove over the bomb device.

Attack on police personnel in Sinai occur rather frequently since the oust of former president Mohammed Morsi last year, where many pro-Morsi supporters reside.

Many militant groups, such as Ansar Bait Al Maqdis, are also based in Sinai and frequently claim responsibility for such attacks.
