Egypt recalled its ambassador to Tunisia Saturday in response to Tunisian President Marzouki's demand to release ousted leader Mohammed Morsi, according to AFP.
Marzouki told Egypt's new rulers to release former president Morsi, who is currently detained in a secret location since his overthrow in July. The United Arab Emirates, who supports the military-installed government in Egypt, also recalled its ambassador in Tunisia earlier in response to Marzouki's comments.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that its decision to recall its ambassador is for "consultation" purposes, according to state television.
