An official source at EgyptAir has denied as baseless news reports published by American and Arab media that his company has refused to provide US authorities with the necessary information on passengers flying from Cairo to New York, the daily Al Gomhuria reported.

“EgyptAir did agree to cooperate with the security agencies in the US immediately after we were requested to pass information on the passengers of the four weekly flights from Cairo to New York,” said the source.

He added that EgyptAir prepared data on the passengers after completing their travel procedures on the computer in order to send them to the American side. The concerned authorities at New York airport can examine the data well ahead of the passengers’ arrival so that they will not wait for a long time at the airport.

Newsweek magazine and the Saudi London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat have published reports that Egypt and Saudi Arabia have refused to cooperate with the US in this respect - Albawaba.com
