Egyptian Health Minister Ismail Salam on Sunday gave in to the country’s Physiotherapy Treatment Association, which has been demanding the establishment of independent departments for its members in the health ministry, its directorates and hospitals.
Fifteen physiotherapy students recently received hospital treatment for injuries received in a confrontation with the police during demonstrations against their profession’s alleged oppression by the Egyptian Ministry of Health.
The agreement was reached following a meeting between the minister, representatives of the association, and association head Ahmed Hassan.
Hassan told the Cairo-based daily Al Masaa that the decision came in line with Law No.3 for 1985 on organizing physiotherapists - Albawaba.com
