An Egyptian resident of Cairo’s Giza district beat his six-year-old son to death this week for failing to perform a chore on time, according to the UAE daily Al Bayan.
The father reportedly smashed his son’s skull with a thick stick and dislocated the boy’s shoulder – all for being late in fetching water.
The daily reported that the Egyptian police arrested the 39-year-old suspect, who said that he had lost control of himself until it was too late.
The man’s neighbors said that they rushed to rescue the child, but arrived too late.
The general prosecution department subsequently issued instructions to detain the accused killer - Albawaba.com
