Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa said that the meeting of the joint Libyan - Egyptian initiative for achieving reconciliation in Sudan will be held in Cairo during the coming week, reports said Saturday.
Arabicnews.com quoted the minister as saying the meeting is a resumption of former meetings, as it aims at studying the situation before the visit to the joint committee to Khartoum, as scheduled, saying that the committee is contacting members of the Sudanese opposition.
Moussa said the talks between the opposition and the government could tackle Sudanese affairs in all aspects, including the parliamentary elections.
He said there are current direct communications between the government and some of the opposition members, asserting the possibility that the joint committee could convey opinions or stances between the two sides in the framework of the initiative – Albawaba.com
