Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak called for "clear" Arab support for the Palestinians after the failure of peace negotiations at Camp David, the government press reported Thursday.
During talks with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat Wednesday, Mubarak "stressed the importance of finding a clear Arab position supporting the Palestinian right to demand their legitimate rights according to international law," Al-Akhbar newspaper reported.
Arafat is due to kick off a tour of Arab capitals next week to brief leaders on the failure of the peace summit with Israel, top aide Tayeb Abdul Rahim told AFP Wednesday without giving further details of his itinerary.
Al-Akhbar and Al-Ahram newspapers reported that Arafat told Mubarak during their meeting that he was determined to see east Jerusalem as part of the Palestinian territories and hold on to the Palestinians rights.
