Egyptian prosecutor general Maher Abdel Wahab is demanding a quick trial and the death sentence for a man known as the Al Basateen killer, who is accused of killing his wife, her alleged lover and four children.

He has agreed to refer the defendant to a Cairo criminal court and extend his detention, the daily Al Ahram reported on Sunday.

Wahab has charged the defendant with killing six people and the unlicensed possession of a knife and penknife without personal or professional need.

When referring the defendant, Wahab attached to the concerned documents a list of evidence, including the testimonies of seven witnesses and a detailed confession by the defendant. Also included was the forensic report on the autopsies and the prosecutor general’s inspection of the crime scene – Albawaba.com
