Egyptian-Somali Security Talks Begin in Cairo

Somalia and Egypt began high-level discussions on security issues in Cairo on Tuesday.  

Egyptian Minister of Interior Habib Al Adli and his Somali counterpart, Taher Al Sheikh, led their respective delegations of security experts to the meeting. 

The delegates discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all realms of security, with a focus on training and rehabilitation of Somalis security personnel.  

Adli welcomed the expansion of cooperation with Somalia within the framework of restructuring the Somali police force.  

For his part, the Somali minister hailed his state’s strong relations with the Egyptian people and government, and expressed confidence in Egypt’s capabilities in all specialized security areas.
