An Egyptian television director was sentenced on Saturday to five years of forced labor for sexually harassing a young actress.
Osama Qassem was found guilty along with his assistant director Mohieddine Mursi, who was sentenced to three years of forced labor by the high state security court, according to MENA news agency.
Actress Imane Suleiman had complained to authorities after Mursi told her she could have a role in a television series if she slept with Qassem.
The men were caught after Suleiman, upon the authorities' request, secretly recorded her conversations with the two men.
Moreover, the court described the verdict as a landmark case in Egypt regarding sexual harassment. (Albawaba.com)
