The Supreme State Security Prosecution on Wednesday referred 3 Egyptians, 2 Arab-Israelis and 4 Israeli military intelligence officers to trial on charges of involvement in alleged acts of espionage for Israel.
Judicial sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the Egyptian suspects in the case transferred information regarding security conditions, army positions and the whereabouts of suspected jihadi strongholds in the Sinai Peninsula to the Israeli officers.
State-run MENA news agency named the Egyptian suspects as Auda Teleb Ibrahim, Salama Hamed Abou Garad, and Mohamed Ahmed Eyada Abou Garad.
All three men reside in the Rafah area of North Sinai.
The two Arab-Israelis are Abdallah Selem Ibrahim al-Raqeba and Omar Harb Abou Garad, both from Beer Sheva in southern Israel.
The suspected Israeli intelligence officers were meanwhile named by MENA as Dannie Ovadia, Aharon Danone, David Jacob, and Shlomo Sofer.
