Eight Killed as Georgian Army Minibus Plunges into Ravine

Eight people were killed early Tuesday when a minibus belonging to the Georgian military's cadet corps plunged into a ravine in the east of the country, the ministry of defense said. 

The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the minibus, which burst into flames after driving off the cliff and falling 50 meters (165 feet) in the Lagodekhsky region, about 60 kilometers (35 miles) east of Tbilisi. 

The minibus's 35-year-old driver, his wife, three daughters and three male passengers died in the accident. There were no survivors -- TBILISI (AFP)
