EJABI in Collaboration with SABEQ Introduce Lean Manufacturing Tools and Application

Euro-Jordanian Advanced Business Institute (EJABI) in collaboration with USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ) introduced lean manufacturing tools and applications during a roundtable discussion with representatives from the private industrial sector.  This was the first of the joint EJBAI and SABEQ’s “Industrial Professional Community” roundtable series.  The purpose of the roundtable was to present lean manufacturing tools and applications followed by an open discussion regarding the method’s advantages and benefits for the industrial sector.  EJABI also aims to gain insight from the audience as they exchanged experiences and ideas.

Lean manufacturing is an industrial methodology that seeks to minimize the resources required for production by eliminating non-value activities that inflates costs, lead times and inventory requirements. The benefits of lean manufacturing are to lower costs, increase quality and provide shorter lead times.  The term “lean manufacturing” is derived from its ability to reduce the human effort, manufacturing space, investment tools and engineering hours in half.

Dr. Yaser Abdel Hadi, Executive Director of EJABI, stated regarding the roundtable, “Lean manufacturing has many benefits and it is essential that we gather together Jordan’s industrial sectors to discuss its application in Jordan’s industrial environment. At EJABI we seek to provide roundtables, discussions and sessions on traditional and new business management methodologies to ensure that Jordan’s business enterprises continue to evolve and grow.”
