An elderly Yemeni passenger died of an apparent heart attack shortly after arriving at Dubai International Airport on Tuesday, reported the Gulf News.
The 83-year-old man collapsed and tumbled down an escalator in the arrivals hall after a flight from Sanaa.
An airport spokeswoman said medical staff attempted to revive him for an hour after he collapsed, said the paper.
"Airport medical center staff from the first aid outpost located in the arrivals area were attending to him in about two minutes. They tried their best to revive him using first-aid techniques and a hand-held defibrillator, but without success.
They worked on him for about an hour before he was pronounced dead, reported the paper. The instructor who trains the staff at the airport's eight first-aid outposts was present at the time.
The spokeswoman said the man, who has not been identified, was a Dubai resident and had been travelling alone, according to the agency – Albawaba.com
