A fire broke out in the largest storage space of ballot boxes in Baghdad, sources from the Iraqi Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

Ministry spokesman Saad Man said firefighters were trying to put out the fire.

The Baghdad Operations Command also made a statement, saying the ballot boxes were completely burnt.

The Iraqi parliament on Wednesday adopted a resolution saying votes nationwide of the May 12 elections would be recounted manually.
