The Egyptian General Traffick Corporation has signed an agreement to purchase a new system to cope with traffic jams on the main roads and junctions, said press reports.

The new system, created by Egyptian researchers, consists of huge guiding boards that reveal the traffic flow situation to the drivers and direct them to alternative roads that are not overcrowded.

The boards are linked with a central control panel and a number of cameras fixed in different places to provide actual pictures of traffic jams and warn drivers before reaching junctions or driving up the bridges at peak hours.

A number of Egyptian companies are embarking on manufacturing the system in collaboration with the state-run Arab Industrialization Organization.
