Elia Nuqul, Chairman of Nuqul Group Launches His Biography entitled “A Promise Fulfilled”

Elia Nuqul, Chairman of Nuqul Group, on Monday December 22, 2008 in a joyous and delightful atmosphere, launched his biography entitled “A Promise Fulfilled – Elia Costandi Nuqul and His Business Odyssey” marking a fruitful journey of fifty-six years of hard work and  continuous growth in trade and industry.  The occasion was celebrated at the Ramleh Auditorium in the Nuqul Group’s building in Abdoun which many of his friends, businessmen, schoolmates, journalists and members of his family attended.

Also present at the launch were the two  authors, Dr. Andrew Wheatcroft, Professor of International Publishing & Communication and Director of the Centre for Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling in Scotland and Dr. Christina Zacharia Hawatmeh, who is also co-author of “Palestine and the Palestinians” and is currently teaching at the University of Jordan.

A Promise Fulfilled, published by I.B. Tauris, a renowned British publishing house,  tells the story of Mr. Nuqul’s productive life and experience in both the trading and industrial fields.  It also highlights major milestones in Nuqul’s business odyssey which is characterized by establishing Nuqul Group embodying some thirty industrial companies located in eight countries, with about 5,500 employees and a strong leading position in Middle Eastern and North African markets -– a remarkable achievement by all standards. These companies, especially those specialized in the production of hygienic paper – FINE - have prided themselves with establishing a famous name and reputation for their brands.

The revenue generated from the sale of the book will go to the Elia Nuqul Foundation, an entity established by the Nuqul family.   The Foundation represents the beginning of an important era that aims to inspire future generations of the Nuqul Family and Nuqul Group to promote the values and beliefs of Elia Nuqul for years to come.   Moreover, it intends to institutionalize and strengthen their endeavors in the area of philanthropy in order to maximize impact and benefit for disadvantaged people within the Kingdom.

With much historical detail interwoven into an inspiring story, this book makes a valuable reference and interesting read.
