Senior Management of Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) attended a workshop on Abu Dhabi economic vision 2030. EMAL’s participation in the workshop was designed to ensure that senior managers of the smelter are aware of the aspects of the vision, its stated goals and its reflection on EMAL’s work in Taweelah.
“As one of the largest diversification projects in the UAE outside of the oil and gas sector, EMAL has a vital role to play in the economic growth of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi,” said Saeed Al Mazrooei, the CEO of EMAL. “Through the export of primary aluminium and its use here locally, we’re adding to the GDP and creating downstream opportunities for diversification.”
“We want our employees to be proud of contributing to the sustainability of our Emirate’s economy, but for them feel that sense of pride, they must understand the importance of our work in the context of Abu Dhabi 2030 plan. Now that they’ve completed the seminar, the senior managers of EMAL have been tasked to cascade what they’ve learned here to their employees so that everyone on the EMAL site understands how important his/her work is.”
The workshop was conducted by Ahmad Abu Ghaida, Acting Director of Economic Planning at The Department of Economic Development.
