Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah has pardoned four Iraqi women imprisoned for collaborating with Iraqi forces during their 1990-91 occupation of the emirate, a newspaper reported Monday.

The central prison has taken proper measures to implement the Emiri decision by moving the four women to a deportation center, Al-Watan said.

Two of the women were identified by the daily as popular actresses Zaina Badahi and Ibtisam Dakheel. The other two were named as Samira Juma and Ansar al-Jlati.

Authorities in Kuwait will contact the International Committee of the Red Cross to help facilitate their deportation, the newspaper added. (Albawaba.com)
