Emirates Graduates Ready to Make a Difference

As the region’s aviation and tourism industry continues to grow, so does the demand for qualified personnel. The good news is that following Wednesday’s 16th Graduation Ceremony from the Emirates Aviation College (Aerospace & Academic Studies) there are now 120 new graduates ready to join the industry.

Since the establishment of the College in 1991 there have been over 12,000 graduates, the most recent ones completing National and Higher National Diplomas in various disciplines, including: Aerospace Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, business Management and Tourism Management.

A number of the graduates also completed a BSc in Aerospace Technology and a BSc in Electronics Engineering, both are one year, top-up degree programmes in collaboration with Coventry University in the UK.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman & Chief Executive, Emirates Airline & Group, and Chancellor of Emirates Aviation College (Aerospace & Academic Studies) presented the certificates to the students at the ceremony which was held at the College.

Mohammed Al Budoor, Vice-Chancellor of the Emirates Aviation College, said: “Emirates Aviation College has been offering first class aviation related educational programmes for the past 17 years. It is important for us to keep up with the fast growth of the aviation industry in the UAE and the rest of the world.

“The College is committed to provide highly qualified and well equipped graduates to fulfill the aviation market demands in Aviation Management, Aerospace Maintenance, Business and Tourism, Air Traffic Management, Information Technology, Project Management and Logistics.

“On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, I would like to congratulate all of our graduates and wish them the best of luck in their future careers.”

 


The Emirates Aviation College (Aerospace & Academic Studies) is licensed by the Ministry of Education and offers professional vocational programmes in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics & Computer Engineering, Business Management and Travel &Tourism Management, in addition to short courses in Management and the English language.

The college recognises the importance of providing a sound vocational education structure based on the needs of industry in the UAE, the region and beyond.  Students taking this route following completion of high school or secondary education can follow a unique path of ‘learning by doing’, acquiring both knowledge and skills that allow them to form a greater understanding of the needs and practices of the work-place environment.  This might be in preparation for a career as an aircraft engineer, an IT specialist a hotel manager or a business entrepreneur.
