Emirates Group employees recognised for exceptional achievements
Twenty members of Emirates Group staff were today presented with prestigious achievement awards by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group.
The company’s annual Najm Chairman's Awards recognise the Group’s most outstanding staff members and this year Sheikh Ahmed selected 12 achievements involving a total of 20 winners, more than twice the number than in previous years.
The 45-minute awards ceremony which took place in the atrium of the new Emirates Group Headquarters in Dubai was watched by the winners’ families, friends and colleagues. A large screen was set up especially for the event, so that all members of HQ staff were able to watch the presentation.
Presenting the awards at today’s ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed said “The Najm Chairman’s Awards are the people’s awards, as they recognise and reward our finest asset – our people. My warmest congratulations to the winners – you have been chosen from a long list of outstanding stars, which makes you superstars in your own right.”
The awesome award-winning deeds, some individual, some team efforts, performed by these twenty staff members included the prevention of major incidents by promptly extinguishing fires; taking decisive action in emergency situations saving passengers’ lives and the creation of innovative ideas, each one bringing operational efficiencies and yielding both cost savings and environmental benefits. Every single winner displayed outstanding personal characteristics including initiative, leadership, ingenuity, bravery, dedication and commitment.
Sheikh Ahmed told those watching the presentation: “I am pleased to present these awards today, as the accomplishments have set high benchmarks for us. The winners serve as role models, inspiring us to unlock our own creativity and stimulate our desire to excel. Teamwork is the keystone from which all innovative ideas soar and take wing and I encourage you all to weave it into the fabric of our life in the Emirates Group.”
