Palestinian top negotiator Saeb Erekat urged the international community to interfere in the ongoing Israeli aggressions on the Palestinian territories.
“I know that we may witness massacres against the Palestinian people if the international community does not interfere,” he told CNN Thursday, while Israeli tanks and gunships were shelling Ramallah and Gaza.
He said that the international community must help the Palestinian people in this “moment of darkness.”
“The Israelis are burying the peace process…This government is like a train without brakes,” he added.
Speaking to the BBC world, Erekat reiterated that unless something is done to stop the Israeli atrocities, “there will be another Kosovo,” in reference to the ethnic cleansing campaigns against the Kosovans late nineties.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Minister Hassan Asfour said that the Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza were “part of Barak’s plan along with the government leaders in the war against Palestinian people,” according to Al-Jazira TV Channel.
Asfour considered the United States a partner in this war. He added that the “Palestinian people will never kneel down.” – (Several Sources)
