Estimated USD 21 billion worth of construction investments to increase demand for project management services in Jordan
CMCS contributes to enhancement of Jordan’s project-based businesses through newly-opened sister company APMC
Collaboration, Management and Control Solutions (CMCS), a leading provider of Project and Portfolio Management solutions and the authorized representative of Oracle Primavera in the Middle East, will be conducting a seminar on “Empowering Project Driven Businesses” at the Grand Hyatt, Amman, Jordan, on February 19, 2009 to capitalize on domestic trends that highlight the need for reliable Project Management (PM) services.
A particularly significant development is the rapid expansion of Jordan’s construction sector, which is expected to receive around USD 21 billion in investments within the next few years and will consequently boost local demand for PM services. The growth of this industry and other project-based businesses such as real estate, urban & infrastructure development and engineering & software development has created a greater awareness on the importance of PM services. While during the 1990s contractors were not obliged to submit project schedules at all, today formal working schedules have become a requirement for all government and large-scale private contracts, with most contractors using Primavera scheduling tools to address the diverse PM challenges faced by both developers and government.
“The rapid expansion of the construction industry and other project-based businesses throughout Jordan bodes well for the future of PM and our operations in the country. We would like to emphasize, though, that the services we offer through our newly-opened local branch cover the entire spectrum of project-based businesses. Our goal is to enhance the level of PM services in the country and thus contribute in our own way to accelerating both domestic and infrastructural growth,” said Bassam Samman, CEO and Founder, CMCS.
PM professionals were nonexistent in Jordan as late as 2002; today more than 400 local practitioners offer their expertise. The CMCS seminar will highlight the latest developments, best practices and emerging technologies in the PM field. It follows CMCS’ successful entry into the promising Jordanian PM market through the recent establishment of sister company Anchor for Project Management Consultancy (APMC). The new firm offers a comprehensive range of PM software solutions, training and consultancy.
CMCS has invited prominent speakers who will highlight how the world’s leading Portfolio Project Management solution vendor, Primavera Systems, assists in helping project-driven businesses easily meet their development goals. Presentations will be delivered on how CMCS uses Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Management, Primavera Contract Manager, Primavera Risk Analysis, Hard Dollar cost estimation, and Synchro 4-dimension simulation software and add-ons to optimize an organisation’s PM activities.
