Etihad Crystal Cargo, the cargo division of Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has appointed MICCO Logistics, one of the leading logistics companies in the UAE, to take care of cargo sales and services in the territory of Qatar. The ground handling in Doha will be done by Qatar Aviation Services.
Etihad Airways started six-a-week services between Abu Dhabi and Doha on 18 June 2006, operating a three-zone Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
The new services which operates every day except Tuesday, offers a cargo capacity of up to 12 tonnes with a full passenger load.
“With the diversification of the Qatari economy and the Asian Games coming up in December, Etihad Airways is looking at some interesting business opportunities – not only for Guest but also for cargo services,” said Ingo Roessler, Vice President Cargo, Etihad Airways.
Etihad Crystal Cargo is expecting to carry personal effects and perishables on the new route, with flight EY705 departing Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) at 21.30 and arriving at Doha International Airport at 21.30 local time and return flight EY706 departing Doha at 22.30, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 00.30.
