Etisalat Academy’s ‘1st Gulf Financial Forum’ to Kick Off in Dubai, 9th – 10th June 2010

The Etisalat Academy today announced that it will organise the '1st Gulf Financial Forum' which will take place on 9th – 10th June 2010, at The Address – Dubai Mall. The forum will be held under the theme of 'From Crisis to Conquest, The Challenges for Accounting and Finance'.

The Forum is aimed to discuss the impact of the global economic crisis on the accounting and finance sectors in the region. It will also highlight the future of these important sectors after the crisis as well as the major changes and challenges that face them.

David Brennan, General Manager of the Etisalat Academy said: "The business sector has seen a challenging economic environment in the last two years. Global financial brands have disappeared or been bailed out. At the Etisalat Academy we are committed to highlight the important topics that affect the business sector in the region and helping it to face the different challenges and help the companies achieve their organizational goals."

The forum will discuss a number of significant topics including cost cutting versus revenue enhancement, ethical dilemmas, IFRS and fair value challenges, accounting for environmental costs, and IFRS for SMEs.

The forum will host assembly finance and accounting specialists who represent a variety of local, regional and international companies including DIFC, Deloitte & Touche ME, Mobily, ACCA, Ernst & Young, Michigan State University, Moreson Menon Chartered Accountants, KPMG – UAE, Sustainability Excellence – Jordan, ICAEW, UK.
