UAE’s telecom company, Etisalat, launched on Monday a new “ISHAAR” package for its GSM mobile phone users, combining two new services - call conferencing and e-mail notification via SMS text messaging - with call waiting, reported the Gulf News.
The GSM call waiting was previously available as a stand alone service to Etisalat's mobile users.
The ISHAAR package will be available to post-paid GSM subscribers, starting from Tuesday, said the paper.
GSM call conferencing will allow subscribers to make a phone call to more than one person at a time, up to a maximum of five people. This allows multi-party simultaneous conversations all over the world.
This service will be of particular benefit to GSM subscribers “who want to stay in touch with loved ones.”
“They can now speak to brothers, sisters and parents at the same time regardless of where they live,” the paper said.
The e-mail notification will allow subscribers to receive an SMS text message on their GSM handset, notifying them that they have received new mail on their emirates e-mail account – Albawaba.com
