The European Union commissioner for external relations, Chris Patten, is expected in Morocco next Monday to meet officials and review several political and economic issues, reported the official Maghrebe Arab Presse (MAP).
Patten will underline the “continuity of the European Union's support for the Mediterranean region and encourage enforcement of the decisions made at last November’s meeting of Euro-Mediterranean foreign ministers,” according to a statement, cited by the agency.
Patten will propose technical assistance to support the recent agreement between Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan for close economic integration, said MAP, adding that the commission saw this agreement as likely to give a new impetus to the Barcelona process – Albawaba.com
